Edward Mintz, MD

Dr. Edward Mintz is an Advisory Director of Glenthorne Capital with over fifteen years experience in clinical medicine, health care services and venture initiation. As founder and president of Park Avenue Advisors Inc., a life sciences focused strategic development, due diligence, and management consulting firm, Dr. Mintz assists entrepreneurs and finance professionals in evaluating opportunities in both the public and private sectors and with business development and venture initiation.

Dr. Mintz, a practicing physician, was previously a member of the full-time faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. From 1998 to 2002, Dr. Mintz served as the Director of Business Development leading an entrepreneurial team that developed and launched internally funded ventures for the Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai NYU Health System. Dr. Mintz served as the medical director for the successful venture, The Mount Sinai NYU Health AED Program.

In addition to his entrepreneurial and management experience, Dr. Mintz is an accomplished clinical and bench researcher having published in several areas including cardiovascular diseases, medical device technology, orthopedic surgery, dermatology and emergency medicine. In support of his research pursuits, Dr. Mintz was awarded a research fellowship from the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Mintz holds a BA from Cornell University, an MD from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mintz completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He continues to practice medicine and is a member of the voluntary attending staffs at both Mount Sinai Hospital and Winthrop University Hospital in New York. He holds a faculty appointment at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
